Imagine laying down in the grass on a blanket. but indoors and Leah offers these concerts as a vibrational sound bath for the body ( each instrument touches different areas of the body) an opportunity to relax and truly absorb music with full awareness. ZooT is... a vintage dance band that takes you back to the time when life was moving, dancing, laughing and swinging! JUsing a immy Lunceford formation: 4 saxophones, 3 brass, guitar, bass, drums and a dynamic vocalist put on a show that rivals the dance bands of old. These vibrant musicians play music that takes you back to the 30's 40's and 50's even if the song was written in the 70's and 80's. You give it to us, We Swing it!....... ZooT! can be booked with a Swing DJ to play in the breaks as well as with a dance instructor who teaches a dance class and easy choreography for new comers to this form of fun fun dancing.
Christian Bleiming is known as the Boogie King of Westfahlen, Germany. Together with Leah they have a traditional boogie blues program which resulted in a CD ``Boogie in My Heart`` 2009. This program introduces audiences to traditional boogie music with an accent on ``city blues`` and bluesy jazz in the style of Peggy Lee, Billy Holiday and such. One Woman - Jazz CABARET (Theater)Leah has a love and flair for reaching an audience with a bit of glamour and theatricality. Available for NEW YORK STYLE- JAZZ CABARET SHOW: Her debut album, Playground, is a collection of her jazz cabaret shows which, created in Los Angeles, was translated into Dutch and toured the theater circuit in Holland (2004-2006). She links songs together with a theme. With five 40 minute themed shows under her belt and a varied rooster of musicians to work with, Leah is still booked privately and publicly in theaters and cabaret venues for listening audiences who want a story, some style, a bit of glamour, and theater magic. Her repertoire of songs range from blues, musical, film and of course, Jazz ! Leah is a big believer in bringing Jazz back to a level which involves and moves an audience the way all songs were meant to. Her show themes revolve around composers, divas of song, words of wisdom, men and women, history of vocal jazz, summer themes. If the setting holds a listening audience and stage lighting she will not resist improvising a theme for her audience anyway. Léah gladly shares her accumulated knowledge of her two loves: Music and Dance in workshops, lecture demonstrations, masterclasses, private coaching, or in combination with a tour at a local conservatory or performing arts center. Popular themes are for singers: presentation, body awareness, breathing, musical phrasing, working with a jazz combo....For Jazz Dancers: learning to listen to jazz music, how to separate the elements, learning jazz musical phrasing (instead of hip hop phrasing) and learning to improvise LIVE with musicians using their jazz dance repertoire. Leah Kline has had the privilege of performing in virtually every medium there is (Theater, Concert Hall, Radio, Television, Feature Film). She is fully versed in the world of music and theater as a singer, dancer, actress and choreographer. Comfortable before an audience of 30 to 3,000, performing since she was 18 years old, struggling or flying high in glamour, Ms. Kline has quite some information to offer a young professional or the curious amateur. She gives private coaching and workshops in Singing, Presentation, Movement, Dancing and Improvisation. A natural teacher, teaching has been a source of great pleasure in her artistic career. Her newest workshop for the Theaterschool in Amsterdam is exploring dance and music improvisation with LIVE Jazz musicians ``Don't call yourself a 'Jazz Dancer' if you know nothing about jazz!``Do Jazz Dancers have a future in Jazz Music or just companies and musical theater? Is there a closer link between Jazz and Hip Hop that requires just some extra musical training? Playing jazz music asks for an understanding of musical phrasing, rhythm and communication. These workshops with the Jazz Dance Department of the Theaterschool in Amsterdam are an exploration towards using dancers as inspiration and interpretation of musical solo and vice versa.
